In-Home Initial Lactation Consultation

Service Description

This 90-minute initial lactation consultation includes a thorough case history review, evaluation of your baby's oral motor structures and function, examination of your breast/chest tissue, assessment of milk transfer at the breast, alternate nursing device, and/or bottle using pre- and post- weights, positioning, latch, and any other evident concerns. Based on reason for consultation, individualized support for pumping, flange sizing, bottle aversion, milk supply management, and/or weaning provided. Following the consultation, a care plan is provided with findings and recommendations. Given dual certification as SLP/IBCLC, this lactation consultation includes a feeding/swallowing evaluation component as well. For Milkwise/Wildflower clients, the consultation fee is covered by insurance and only the travel fee of $100 is required by the client for travel within 15 miles of Long Beach (90808). For travel within 15-20 miles of Long Beach, a travel fee of $150 is required by the client. For travel beyond 20 miles, please email prior to booking appointment. For self-pay clients, the consultation fee includes travel within 15 miles of Long Beach (90808).
