Service Description

This in-depth evaluation is designed for families considering a frenectomy for their child and want a clear understanding of how oral restrictions may be impacting speech, feeding, oral motor function, and overall development. We assess: Oral motor skills and coordination, swallowing patterns and safety, speech sound development and intelligibility, feeding challenges, food range, and oral habits and functional impact of tethered oral tissues. You and your provider will receive a detailed report with individualized recommendations, including whether a release is recommended at this time per SLP clinical judgement, and a treatment plan to support optimal outcomes before and after a frenectomy — if needed. This service is ideal for children 12 months and older who are experiencing feeding challenges, speech delays, oral motor concerns, or have been referred for a possible oral restriction.
